World Ocean Day is observed on June 8th each year to raise awareness about the importance of the ocean in our lives and to promote conservation and sustainable use of ocean resources. It’s a day to highlight the critical role of the ocean in regulating the climate, providing food and livelihoods, supporting biodiversity, and fostering recreation and tourism. World Ocean Day also aims to address the growing threats facing the ocean, such as pollution, overfishing, habitat destruction, and climate change, and to inspire individuals and communities to take action to protect and preserve this vital resource for future generations.
