The reduced sensitivity to red light and green light leads to red-green color blindness. Depending on the brightness and saturation of colors, the affected individual can’t distinguish between reds, greens, browns, and oranges.
Color-blind people commonly have trouble distinguishing between certain colors.
Those with red-green color blindness may confuse reds with greens, while those with blue-yellow color blindness might mix up blues and yellows. In cases of total color blindness, everything appears in shades of grey.
