Farakka Barrage is built across the Ganga river located in the murshidabad district of West Bengal. It is around 18 kms away from the Bangladesh border. It was opened in 1972. Farakka barrage lies closest from the India Bangladesh border. Tilaiya barrage is in the Koderma district of Jharkhand.
