AI is the broad field of creating intelligent machines, while machine learning is a specific technique used to achieve AI. Imagine AI as the overall goal and machine learning as one of the tools used to get there. Machine learning involves training algorithms on data to learn and improve without explicit programming.
Therefore ML is a subset of AI.
