Google was founded in 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin while they were Ph.D. students at Stanford University. They developed a search engine that would later become the world’s most popular search engine. The company’s mission statement from the outset was to organize the world’s information and make it universally accessible and useful. Today, Google’s influence extends far beyond search, with products and services in areas such as advertising, cloud computing, software, and hardware.
