“The Raven” is a famous poem written by Edgar Allan Poe. It is known for its melancholic and eerie tone, as well as its musicality and exploration of themes such as grief, loss, and the supernatural. The raven symbolizes unending sorrow and the relentless nature of mourning.
Edgar Allan Poe- In ‘The Raven’ the symbol is obvious. Poe himself meant the Raven to symbolize ‘mournful, never-ending remembrance. ‘ Our narrator’s sorrow for his lost, perfect maiden Lenore is the driving force behind his conversation with the Raven.
