The grandfather paradox is a hypothetical scenario in time travel theory that illustrates how changing the past can create a contradiction. It’s also known as a consistency paradox. The paradox occurs when a time traveler uses a closed timelike curve (CTC) to travel back in time and prevent their own birth by killing their grandfather before he can have children. This would mean that the time traveler could never have existed and therefore couldn’t have traveled back in time to kill their grandfather.
