The fear of lakes is called “limnophobia.” This phobia involves an irrational fear or anxiety related to lakes or large bodies of freshwater. People with limnophobia may experience fear when near lakes, swimming in them, or even thinking about them. This fear can be triggered by concerns about deep water, unknown creatures, or a fear of drowning.
