The chessboard setup involves placing the pieces on the board at the beginning of the game. Each player places their pieces on the two rows closest to them: rooks on the corners, knights next to rooks, bishops next to knights, the queen on her color, and the king next to the queen. Pawns are placed in front of these pieces. The board should be oriented so that each player has a white square in their bottom right corner.
