In the UK and the US, there is an urban legend known as “High Beams,” or the killer in the backseat.
In the legend, a car or truck is following a woman who is driving. The unidentified offender follows her, tailgates her, and occasionally even crashes her car. Upon reaching her house at last, she understands that the driver was attempting to alert her to the presence of a man in the back seat. The driver in the rear had scared the man every time he sat up to attack her, making him duck back down.
There are different versions of it, as well.
