A geocell is a three-dimensional honeycomb-like geosynthetic structure used to stabilize soil and improve ground performance. It is typically made from strips of polymer material that are welded together to form interconnected cells. When expanded and filled with soil, sand, gravel, or concrete, the geocell confines the material within its cells, preventing lateral movement. This confinement increases the load-bearing capacity of weak soils and distributes loads more evenly. Geocells are widely used in road construction, slope stabilization, and erosion control, where they help maintain structural integrity and reduce deformation over time.
