The immune system is a complex network of organs, cells and proteins that defends the body against infection, whilst protecting the body’s own cells.
major functions or work of immune system :
1. Keeping invaders (like germs) out of your body.
2. Destroying invaders.
3. Limiting how much harm the invaders can do if they’re inside your body.
4. Healing damage to your body.
5. Adapting to new challenges and threats.
6. keeps a record of every germ (microbe) it has ever defeated so it can recognise and destroy the microbe quickly if it enters the body again.
The immune system has a vital role: It protects your body from harmful substances, germs and cell changes that could make you ill. It is made up of various organs, cells and proteins. As long as your immune system is running smoothly, you don’t notice that it’s there.
