The study of crime is called “criminology.” Criminology is an interdisciplinary field that examines the causes, nature, extent, control, and prevention of criminal behavior in both individuals and society. It draws upon knowledge and methods from sociology, psychology, law, anthropology, and other disciplines to understand the complex factors that contribute to criminal behavior and its consequences.
