Nitric acid (HNO3) does not react with gold (Au).When nitric acid reacts with metals, it typically undergoes a redox reaction where nitrogen from the nitric acid is reduced and the metal is oxidized. However, gold is a noble metal and does not react with nitric acid under normal conditions. The noble metals like gold have a high resistance to oxidation and do not react with most acids, including nitric acid.
