‘Saila’ dance originated in the state of Chattisgarh. This dance is performed only by boys after the harvest season in the Hindu month of Aghan (November-December). The participants are given paddy by the villagers as a sign of gratitude. The group of Saila dancers go to each house and adjoining villages to perform this dance.
