Silicon carbide elements are used today in the melting of glass and non-ferrous metal, heat treatment of metals, float glass production, production of ceramics and electronics components, igniters in pilot lights for gas heaters, etc.
Used in the manufacture of fast, high temperature and high voltage devices. Used in lining work for its uniformity abrasion resistance and dimensional stability. Used in the manufacture of electronic appliances such as light emitting diodes (LEDs) and detectors.
