DNA replication ensures accuracy through several mechanisms:
* Base Pairing Rules: DNA polymerases add nucleotides to the growing strand according to complementary base pairing (A with T, and C with G).
* Proofreading: DNA polymerases have proofreading abilities to correct errors during replication.
* Mismatch Repair: After replication, mismatch repair mechanisms correct any errors that escaped proofreading.
