Solar panels are less efficient at higher temperatures. For most panels, efficiency decreases by about 0.5% for each degree Celsius above 25°C (77°F). This phenomenon is known as the temperature coefficient. While sunny, hot climates produce more overall energy, cooler temperatures are better for panel efficiency. Adequate ventilation and spacing can help reduce the heat impact on panels.
