Use `git log` to view the commit history. There are many options to customize the output, such as `git log –oneline` for a condensed view.
Each branch has commit history. To list commit as a view of a branch’s history, you can use the git long command with the branch name. git log shows the commit history for the branch currently checked out. If you have not checked out a branch, this will show you the commit history of the entire repository.
