The Battle of Karnal, fought on February 24, 1739, between the Mughal Emperor Muhammad Shah and Nader Shah of Persia, had a significant impact on Haryana and the Mughal Empire. Nader Shah’s decisive victory led to the looting of Delhi and a severe blow to Mughal prestige and power. The battle exposed the Mughal Empire’s weaknesses, leading to its decline and creating a power vacuum that affected the region, including Haryana.
