How can we measure the success of global efforts to combat plastic pollution?

Measuring success in fighting plastic pollution involves looking at a few key things. First, we check if there’s been a drop in plastic production and use—fewer single-use plastics mean we’re making progress. We also look at how well plastic is being recycled; better recycling rates show that efforts are working.

Another important measure is seeing less plastic waste in our oceans and landfills. If we’re seeing cleaner beaches and less litter, that’s a good sign.
