During the Salt Satyagraha of 1930, Mahatma Gandhi’s volunteers walked for 24 days. The march, known as the Dandi March, covered approximately 240 miles (386 kilometers) from Sabarmati Ashram to the coastal village of Dandi in Gujarat, where Gandhi and his followers made salt from the sea, defying British regulations.
