The first full-length Indian feature film is “Raja Harishchandra”,” directed and produced by Dadasaheb Phalke. It was released in 1913 and marked the beginning of Indian cinema. The film was a silent movie in black and white that depicted the story of the legendary King Harishchandra and highlighted Phalke’s pioneering work in Indian filmmaking. “Raja Harishchandra” laid the foundation for the Indian film industry and paved the way for the growth and development of Indian cinema.
