Titanium dioxide (TiO₂) is a white, odorless solid with high opacity and brightness. It is commonly used as a pigment in paints, coatings, plastics, and cosmetics due to its excellent light-scattering properties and UV resistance. Additionally, it serves as a photocatalyst in environmental applications, such as water purification and self-cleaning surfaces, by facilitating the degradation of organic pollutants under UV light.
