The cell theory was proposed by Matthias Jakob Schleiden and Theodor Schwann. This theory proposed that “ all living beings whether plants or animals are composed of a group of cells which arise from the pre-existing cells.”
The cell theory was proposed by Matthias Jakob Schleiden and Theodor Schwann. This theory proposed that “ all living beings whether plants or animals are composed of a group of cells which arise from the pre-existing cells.”
Matthias Schleiden and Theodor Schwann gave the Cell theory. Matthias Schleiden, a German Botanist, discovered that all plants were made of cells in 1838. In 1839, Theodor Schwann, a British Zoologist, discovered that all animals are made of cells. This, in short, was called ‘Cell theory’.
