Granite maintenance is straightforward when you follow a few basic habits. Daily cleaning needs only a soft cloth and a mild, pH-balanced cleaner. Granite is not fragile, but stains are easier to prevent than remove.
Sealing is the most important step. Most granites need a seal once a year; lighter varieties with more open grain may need it twice. Sealing takes just a few minutes and keeps moisture and stains from penetrating the stone.
