When installing PCI NICS, you can look at to see if an IRQ is available. External devices can be connected to the motherboard using PCI slots. You may check the IRQ availability while installing PCI NICS by looking at the motherboard BIOS's CONFIG.

When connecting a ribbon cable to a connector, how do you know which direction to plug it in?

    Raji

Added an answer on June 7, 2024 at 10:49 pm

The pins that stick out the end of the connector must be pointing away from the main body of the ribbon cable. There is often a little arrow on the 2 halves of the connector showing you which direction the connector needs to face.

For the dot matrix printer you need to clean the internal parts of this unit and you must put a lubricant on the moving parts of this machine, normally on the shaft where the print-head assembly is attached. Adjust the print-head spacing. Check the tension on the print-head-positioning belt.

What is the first step in diagnosing a completely dead computer at the client site that was working the day before.

Added an answer on June 7, 2024 at 10:43 pm

First, check the power supply. This includes the power from the wall socket, the cable itself, and the power supply in the computer. Try a different socket and a different power cord. If they both work, then consider the power supply.
