Biodegradable plastics offer several advantages, including reduced dependence on fossil fuels, decreased litter and pollution, and potential biodegradation in natural environments. However, biodegradable plastics also have limitations, such as variable degradation rates depending on environmental conditions, potential release of harmful residues during decomposition, and challenges in recycling and composting infrastructure.
