Who is the only Indian cricketer to score centuries in both innings of a Test match on two occasions?
Sunil Gavaskar, the legendary opening batsman, achieved the rare feat of scoring centuries in both innings of a Test match on two occasions during his illustrious career. Gavaskar’s first instance of achieving this milestone came against the West Indies in the fifth Test match held at the Port of Spain, Trinidad, in April 1971. He replicated this feat against the West Indies once again in the sixth Test match held at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai (formerly Bombay) in November 1978. Gavaskar’s remarkable consistency, mental toughness, and ability to thrive under pressure made him one of the greatest opening batsmen in the history of Test cricket.
