Foreign Institutional Investors are an institution established and incorporated outside India, which
proposes to make investment in Indian Securities. They are eligible to make purchase shares and convertible debentures issued by Indian Companies under the Portfolio Investment Scheme. There are three routes through which FIIs can Invest in the Indian Stock Market. The first is the direct route, the second is participatory notes and the third is through FII sub account.
