Pink noise is a type of sound that contains equal energy per octave, resulting in a balanced distribution of frequencies. Unlike white noise, which has equal energy across all frequencies and sounds more hissy, pink noise has a deeper, more soothing quality. It’s often used to aid sleep or concentration because its balanced frequency spectrum is less jarring to the ear.
