The Tripitaka is a name for the sacred texts of Buddhism. It contains the Dharma or teachings of the Buddha as well as commentary and rules for monks and nuns.
Tripitakas is a Sanskrit word that means ‘triple basket’. Triple basket refer as Vinaya pitaka, sutta putaka and Abhidhanma pitaka. This three contained Teaching of Gautam Buddha.
