Raja Raja Chola I, a prominent Chola dynasty ruler, built the Brihadeeswarar Temple (also known as the Rajarajeswaram or Peruvudaiyar Kovil) in Thanjavur, Tamil Nadu. This temple, completed in 1010 CE, is renowned for its grand architecture and is a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
