The Cabinet Mission that arrived in Delhi in 1946 was headed by Lord Patrick Lawrence. The mission also included Sir Stafford Cripps and A.V. Alexander. Their primary goal was to negotiate with Indian leaders and facilitate the transition of power from British rule to Indian self-government.
