Acids are sour in taste, texture of acids are rough, PH is less than 7, blue litmus paper turns to red litmus paper, and acids are react with metals to produce H2 gas. Example – Vinegar.
Bases are bitter in taste, texture of bases are soapy and slippery, PH is greater than 7, bases are does not typically react with metals or with carbonated compounds, bases are react with oils and fats. Example – Baking Soda.
