Padma Vibhushan is the second-highest civilian award of the Republic of India, after the Bharat Ratna. Padma Vibhushan is awarded for ‘exceptional and distinguished service.
The Padma Vibhushan is the second-highest civilian award of the Republic of India instituted in 2nd January ,1954. This is the next immediate honor after Bharat Ratna.
