The glacier located where the Line of Control (LoC) between India and Pakistan ends is the Siachen Glacier. The Siachen Glacier is located in the eastern Karakoram Range in the Himalayas, in the Ladakh region of Jammu and Kashmir. It is the longest glacier in the Karakoram and the second longest in the world’s non-polar areas.
The Siachen Glacier is of strategic importance as it lies on the northernmost part of the Line of Control (LoC) between India and Pakistan. It has been the site of military conflict and is one of the highest battlegrounds in the world, with both India and Pakistan maintaining military posts in the region.
