The four types of episiotomy are:
Median episiotomy: This involves a vertical incision in the perineum, extending from the vaginal opening towards the anus.
Mediolateral episiotomy: This involves a diagonal incision made from the vaginal opening towards one side of the perineum.
Lateral episiotomy: Similar to the mediolateral episiotomy, but the incision is more towards the side.
J-shaped episiotomy: This is a variation of the mediolateral episiotomy, where the incision is shaped like a J, starting at the vaginal opening and curving towards one side of the perineum.
