Sandstone is a sedimentary rock composed of sand sediments that were fragmented from pre-existing rocks and minerals through physical weathering actions such as wind, gravity, and flowing water. Sandstone is a clastic rock because its sediments were broken down through physical processes rather than chemical processes.
