Desertification is the process by which fertile land becomes desert as a result of various factors, including human activities. Activities such as deforestation, overgrazing by livestock, and unsustainable agricultural practices degrade soil and vegetation, leading to reduced land productivity and increased erosion. Climate change exacerbates desertification by altering precipitation patterns and increasing temperatures.
